WILLIAM BROWNING
William Joseph Browning, 67, 812 W. VanTrees St., died Wednesday at 11:15
p.m. in the emergency room at the Daviess County Hospital. He had been in
failing health since 1996, but death was unexpected.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at St. Mary's Church. Officiating
will be Fr. Lowell Will. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the
time of the funeral at Ed Lee Mortuary. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
Friday.
He was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Daviess County to John H. and Dola M. (Brothers)
Browning. He married Theresa E. McAtee on April 9, 1951, and she survives.
He was a lifetime resident of the community and graduated from Washington
Catholic High School in 1950. He was a retired truck driver for Gibco Trucking
Co., and was currently working part time at Super Wash in Washington.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church where he sang in the choir.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, John Browning, Montgomery, Jim Browning, Jeff
Browning, Jay Browning and Jerry Browning, all of Washington; a daughter, Beth
Browning, Washington; three grandsons, four granddaughters, and a brother, James
L. Browning, Washington.
One son, William Joseph Jr., and a brother, Daniel Browning are deceased.

WILLIAM BROWNING
A mass was celebrated at noon Saturday at St. Mary’s Church for the
funeral William J. Browning. Fr. Lowell Will was the celebrant. Interment was in
the St. John’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were: his sons, John, Jim, Jeff, Jay
and Jerry Browning and a nephew, Phil Browning. The honorary pallbearers were:
Erik, Chrissy, Justin, Kurt, Lindsey, Jaycie, Hallie and Brooke Browning, Lisha
Fair and Adam Hunt, all his grandchildren.
